THE POWER OF THE TOUNGE

Words have power, we use them every day. We must be careful of what we say. The tongue can be a lethal weapon that aims to scorn, but let’s please use it to uplift someone. Once the words are released there is no taking them back. The intent behind what we say is important, not so much the choice words. It is true that the choice words can hurt, but the intent behind the words are more severe. When we convey our message we are trying to make a point or a statement and that’s fine. However behind those statements we usually have an objective to inspire, uplift, encourage, discourage, hurt/ harm. So what’s the point of it all? Words are powerful, and realizing that what a person says to another can uplift or destroy one’s spirit should be enough to allow us all to think before we speak. Make sure that if you are angry you take a few moments before you lash out. Ask yourself what is my intent. If your intent is to belittle someone, or any derogatory reasons stop yourself. Remember this is a human being that you are addressing, and this person has feelings. Ask yourself how you would feel if the words with intentions to harm, or degrade were used towards you. Then evaluate is your intent worth hurting those you care for. We can’t take back what has already been said, but we can be more conscience of how we use our tongue in the future. Try utilizing affirmations towards those you care about. The more we use affirmations, the easier it becomes to use the tongue for uplifting others.

Remember, Intentions behind the words are severe. Try intending to utilize affirmations; it will make a world of difference.
