My first event that I ever planned under the OMG! Moments Inc. name had a budget of $100.00 and whole lot of love. I was giving a good friend of mine a going away party and was not sure of exactly what it is that I would be doing. We had the event in a restaurant and I ensured her that I would take care of her guests so I had to make it work. I decided that what I wanted was a wishing well box in the shape of a cake that would be used for guests at the party to write her small notes and she could keep the box as a keepsake as well. That was the first time that ever ran into trouble using a third parties creative mind. Our visions were different and we had different outlooks on how this creation should look. When I expressed my concerns it caused quite the disturbance between us both. I learned that day that in business you must learn the ins and outs of every portion of your company. Whether it be my area of expertise or not I must know something about everything and take pride and concern in every detail. I left creative control to her under the impression she saw what I saw. Not a good idea to think that way. No one can see into your mind. If you are blessed enough in business to find anyone that has the same vision as you hold on to them tight. Good help is hard to find and worth it to keep.
