Earlier this year, I attended a party for one of my good friends. In all honesty, my husband and I didn’t want go, as we had a lot going on that day, but decided we really should, plus I really missed my friends. As with most parties, we mixed and mingled and met several new people and couples and had a good time in general.
Right when we were about to leave, a couple and their family arrived. We previously met this couple at a party at our home. After we exchanged greetings, the husband pulled me to the side and said, “Hey, I could really use some help with marketing my business.” I started asking him standard questions about his business and exactly what type of marketing he was interested in. I also interjected ways I could add value through marketing and the different ways we could achieve his goals. We had a great ten minute conversation, I handed him my business card and set an appointment to meet the very next week to discuss in further detail his requirements and to sign a contract.
