As Single Parents we tend to multitask just about everything, right?
We even pride ourselves on being able to 2-3 things at once, lol. We talk on the phone, while changing diapers, & cooking dinner. We're washing clothes, running to the store and then help with homework, and a combination of these and more.
By the end of all of this we are stressed, tired and just worn out. The caveat is that we seem to multitask naturally right? We saw our mothers do this right? And this is when our children really is vying for our attention, crying, asking for this & that, needing a ride to or from somewhere, and it seems to be all at once
Consider that this is actually an unhealthy activity. I know...I know, we have so much to get done, I hear you. Think about it, focusing our attention back & forth on several different things really slows us down, and we are unable to give the proper attention to the task. Also it puts us in a frezenzy state of mind, to get everything done. And we are not that productive. Although we feel busy, right? LOL
What if you break it down to:
Urgent - Need to do right now
Priority - Has to be done today or by...
Important - Will get done this week or by ....
By focusing on one task at a time, you'll be less stressed and will get a lot done and even have "Me Time!"
Because the most important task is the one you're doing at the moment.
