Blogger’s block is one of the worse conditions you can experience because it hinders your progress on many levels. To help you combat this problem, following are 10 types of blog posts you can create to kick it.
1. How-To Posts
These are by far the most popular types of blog posts. You are simply telling your audience how to do something. This shouldn’t take much work since you have established some level of expert credibility as a blogger. You can write your message or use audio, video, images, or presentations.
2. Photos
You can add photos to written stories to add impact; create a photoblog; or use an image to speak your message.
3. Interviews
Interviews are a great way to spotlight people doing good things. This is a win-win for the interviewer and the interviewee. The latter will get exposure while the former will get increased visibility and credibility as a resource. Your interviews can be written, audio or video.
4. Open Questions
Ask questions to start discussions or to have fun or unusual conversations. Ideally, engagement with your readers will increase; however, there is a possibility that you may not get any responses.
5. Comparison
Facebook vs. Google+, WordPress vs. Blogger, or iPhone vs. Droid are some of the more popular comparisons seen these days. What are some comparisons you can make on your site that are relevant to your audience?
6. Editorials
Simply stated, editorials are opinions. They should be easy to write if you are an expert in your area of interest. All you have to do is disagree with a statement or a view, and you will get attention. Just be sure to stand behind your beliefs.
7. Books
There are three ways to use books on your site. First, you can write reviews. Second, you can create a blog to write your book. Or, you can compile posts from your site to create a book.
8. Lists
These posts are some of the easiest posts to create. Pull information from your site or the site of others, and use bullet points or numbers to separate points. The post you’re reading now is a list post.
9. Animation
Animation is a cool edition to your site. Luckily, you don’t have to be an animator to create them. You can conduct a search on free animation programs or just borrow from YouTube or other sites.
10. Gratitude/Thank You
Take time to thank your audience, friends, family, and other supporters for their support. You can express your gratitude to individuals or to groups of people collectively. You will be looked upon favorably by all who read such posts.
