Afrika Presents is an educational company dedicated to celebrating the beauty and diversity of African cultures. We currently have an African Fashion Design Sketchbook that celebrates the history and beauty of African fashions and textiles such as kente, kanga, ankara and bogolan. This high quality activity book provides hours of entertainment, stimulates creativity, has stickers, stencils, colour in and design sheets. We celebrate culture through workshops, performances and interactive products with three main aims:
a) instil a greater sense of self pride among children of African heritage
b) enable children regardless of origin, to share in this rich cultural heritage.
c) do this through fun, engaging, interactive play.
These principles are at the core of what we do.
We intend to develop a community strand that supports events that showcase African cultures to various communities.
Why did you become an Entrepreneur?
I am a storyteller by profession based in a non multicultural environment and I needed to find a way to access a wider audience including providing children of African heritage the opportunity to discover more about their history.
Why did you choose your business niche?
It is creative, involves working with young people in numerous ways and I can use my storytelling qualities as that is my strength. My colleague Chimezie Umeh brings the business side into the equation.
Most Exciting Life Experience?
Sharing stories with 600 prisoners at Nairobi's female prison. Intensely nerve racking, exciting, frightening and overall incredible.
What's your Favorite Quote?
Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave person is not the one who does not feel afraid, but the one who conquers that fear. Nelson Mandela

“The man who stops advertising to save money is like the man who stops the clock to save time”
Why Is It... A man wakes up in the morning after sleeping in an advertised bed, washes with an advertised soap, shaves with an advertised razor, sits down and drinks advertised tea or coffee, drives to work in an advertised car and writes with an advertised pen. Then... He refuses to advertise, saying "Advertising doesn't work". But when his business fails, he finally advertises: "Business for Sale" - Anonymous
