Freedom at its purest form gave those enslaved the power of the choice to leave the plantation or to stay. And that is what is needed today in Greenville, Texas.
We have as our utility provider a monopoly with an attitude. A monopoly whose policies and procedures are closer to communism or dictatorship than a Monopoly that is the monopoly because that’s the choice of the people . Maybe in early decades before deregulation a monopoly (which subsequently were outlawed in 1890 by the Sherman anti trust act) could operate and be tolerated with little or no customer service. They could operate with humility. With the economy of this last decade people have suffered from job loss and home foreclosure and the loss of pensions to white color criminals and the choke hold of GEUS Some of their procedure and policies are destructive to basic humanity, there is no reasoning , no com promising no negotiating no appreciation for the ones who never pay late and never complain so certainly no humility for those with an inability to pay. Not to mention the condescending rude mannerisms of not the customer service agents
but of the Supervisor of Customer service and her staff.
Since monopolies are the only provider, they can set pretty much any price they choose, regardless of demand, because they know the consumer has no choice.
Deregulation of electricity became official on January 1, 2002. It meant eliminating or reducing government control of how business is done, thereby moving toward a more free market. We the people of Greenville Texas want a choice. We want the freedom to go or to stay and if we stay we want to be appreciated and treated fairly and with respect. I am for truth, no matter who tells it. I am for justice, no matter who it is for or against. I am a human being first and foremost, and as such I’m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole.” . we intend to ask at the next City Council for recourse as I am sure the city must have a plan b. this monopoly system is outdated and not working for us the consumer if there are no results from the city we will seek the help of the state and if that does not work appeal to the Federal Government , with a loud unified, strong and impassioned plea for help.
”If I was to write a book right now it would be titled " How GEUS ruined my life" or Living under the reign of the tyrant named GEUS, or "I'd like a kiss before my GEUSing"
The City Council needs to suck it up and admit the error of their predecessors and abolish the Autonomous State of GEUS. We the citizen of Greenville Texas demand better and we are going to hold this City Council accountable for our misery. No longer will we just accept whatever GEUS dishes out. No longer will we keep silent (that only allows the abuse to continue).
Do you think for one minute I would have put myself in a position let all my stock ruin. It took me three years and almost 100,000.00 to get it all together it took GEUS all of 5 minutes to take it from me. Should a utility entity have the power to ruin a small business and then act with no remorse? GEUS and / or THE CITY OF GREENVILLE Texas have a moral responsibility to reimburse me for the loss of all my stock / inventory that ruined. I cannot reopen without inventory!
I tried my best to avoid this by offering to pay the electricity and water until the sewer charges could be proven and explained but the way the rules are written now there was no GEUS offer short of paying the whole bill for the lights to be left on. It was truly the worst day of my life one it may take me years to physically and financially rebound from. Mind you that to this day three licensed plumbers have said there was no leak at any rate The Bill was adjusted but my business is now closed as i cant seem to get over the loss of my stock. I have had my pride broken but not my stride the need for change is overwhelming and it is past due.
